Our providers are some of the most experienced and renowned urologists in the country and are considered experts in the latest innovations in the field of urology. We offer the latest in advanced urological care. There is no need to travel to Manhattan and far from those you love when an academic medical center like WMCHealth is close to home.

Urological Conditions We Treat

The field of urology focuses on treating diseases of the urinary tract in both men and women. This includes problems with the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, testes, urethra, and the adrenal gland. Urologists also address issues with the male reproductive system. You can find advanced care at WMCHealth for the following conditions:

  • Female incontinence: Incontinence is the inability to control your bladder or bowels. It can be treated with nonsurgical options, such as pelvic floor exercises, as well as surgical treatments. WMCHealth’s urological surgeons offer innovative and low-risk procedures for incontinence, including robotic reconstruction.
  • Stone disease: New Yorkers are at high risk of kidney stones due to dietary, metabolic, and exercise related conditions. Stones may be managed with simple changes to what we eat and drink, but they can also be treated with outpatient, non-invasive surgeries. Our department is one of the few in the nation to provide mini-incision removal of larger kidney stones with patients in the ‘supine’ and ‘prone’ positions. This procedure results in less pain and faster recovery times.
  • Male infertility and sexual functioning: We offer in-office counseling for people facing infertility, providing options to improve your changes of pregnancy as affordably as possible. We also provide non-surgical treatments for erectile function to achieve optimal sexual health. In addition, we routinely perform in-office non-scalpel based procedures. We perform microscopic vasectomy reversal for those men wishing to restore their fertility.
  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): BPH is a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate that can cause excess urination at night and urinary symptoms during the day. We can treat BPH with medication and minimally invasive procedures, such as prostate artery embolization (PAE), artery Rezum, microwave ablation, and laser and ‘saline’ surgery for men requiring more urgent correction of urinary obstruction.
  • Genitourinary cancers: Our urological team has extensive knowledge of the newest therapies for cancer of the prostate, kidney, bladder, and other genitourinary organs. With more than 25 years of experience in robotic surgery, WMCHealth is home to some of the most skilled and experienced urologists in the country.

We aim to preserve quality of life by offering:

  • Minimally invasive ablation procedures for lower risk prostate cancer
  • Da Vinci prostatectomy for higher risk cancers
  • Cystectomy with internal ‘neobladder’ construction after bladder removal
  • Nephron preserving surgery for patients with smaller kidney tumors

We also enroll and conduct patients in clinical trials to provide opportunities for innovative care for those who are no longer candidates for routine approaches.
