At WMCHealth, we believe the patient experience extends far beyond any stay in a hospital room. Our commitment to patient care includes visitors and caregivers as well. We welcome our patients’ friends and family and make every effort to help them feel at home and accommodate them during their visits. Here, you’ll find WMCHealth’s hospital visitor information and resources, including links to visiting hours and policies.
Visitor Guidelines
Our primary commitment at WMCHealth hospitals is creating a secure and welcoming environment for patient care. To ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and workforce, we have undertaken essential measures to align our hospital visitor policy with the latest requirements from the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH).

Special Services at Featured Locations
At our flagship Westchester Medical Center location, as well as Good Samaritan Hospital and HealthAlliance, we offer The Caregiver Center, a tranquil space to help caregivers manage the stress and emotional challenges that are part of caring for someone who is seriously ill or injured. The Caregiver Center provides free resources, programs, and referrals for caregivers. Resources include computers, notary service by request, information for visitors, and patients about local accommodations and community resources.
Our acclaimed pediatric hospital, the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, is steps away from The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley. The house is a temporary home away from home, providing a supportive and comforting environment for families of critically ill or traumatically injured children. It offers overnight accommodations, meals, laundry, and respite services.
WMCHealth supports the use of technology to connect with your loved ones through virtual options. The care team can assist patients who don’t have a device to communicate with their family and loved ones outside of the hospital.
To ensure our visitors and caregivers have everything they need during their time at WMCHealth, we offer various accommodations:
Local Lodging Information
For the convenience of our patients’ visitors and caregivers, we have a list of nearby hotel and motel accommodations for each hospital in our network. Some establishments may even offer special rates for family and caregivers.
Concierge Services
Our concierge services include directions to and from our hospitals and arrangements for wheelchair assistance for our visitors. Concierge requests can be made in person and by room phone. Contact your local WMCHealth facility to learn more about their specific concierge offerings.
Gift Shops
Our gift shops contribute to our sense of community care with unique gifts and practical items suitable for individuals of all ages. For added convenience, we offer an online gift shop where you can send thoughtful gifts directly to the hospital or the patient’s home.
To aid us in our mission to provide the best possible care, we kindly ask for your understanding regarding certain gift restrictions to ensure the wellbeing of our patients. For instance, while beautiful, fresh flowers and plants cannot be accepted in our intensive care, oncology and transplant units due to potential infection risks. Mylar balloons are also available for purchase, but please note that latex balloons are not permitted within the hospital due to allergies. Your cooperation in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our community is truly appreciated.
Visitor Areas
All WMCHealth facilities offer areas for visitors and caregivers to take a moment for themselves. Discover tranquil gardens and inviting walking areas where you can relax and recharge during your visit. These serene spaces provide quiet reflection when you need it most.
