Our Mission

Our mission is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their highest potential for recovery and enable them to return to their homes and communities.

The Team

Our interdisciplinary team made up of physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, physical and cccupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation neuropsychologists, and social workers help you to achieve your goals.
 
The team works closely with patients and their families to develop an individualized plan to return the patient back to the community at their maximum potential.   The patient and family are the most important members of the team.  As part of the rehabilitation program, a Family Conference may be scheduled to update progress and plan for the needs of the patient.

Diagnoses Treated Include:

    •    CVA (stroke)
    •    Major multiple trauma
    •    Neurological disorders (Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Guillian-Barre, Peripheral Neuropathy)
    •    Hip fractures
    •    Spinal cord injuries
    •    Bilateral joint replacement
    •    Traumatic brain injury
    •    Amputations

    •    Coordinated outpatient rehabilitation services

    •    Spasticity management
    •    Vestibular rehabilitation

Inpatient Referrals

Each patient is assessed prior to admission. Referrals can be made by patients, families, physicians, social workers, hospital staff, therapists and home care agencies. Financial Information

Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and most HMOs usually cover inpatient rehabilitation services depending on the patient’s status for allowable days and amounts. Most other major insurance companies also provide coverage. Questions regarding specific policies should be addressed to the provider directly, or through the employer.
 
If assistance is needed in determining payment and/or coverage status, please contact the financial registrar at MidHudson Regional Hospital by calling 845.431.8208 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The rehabilitation process is a cooperative effort, shared by the patient, the patient’s family, and the interdisciplinary treatment team. At MidHudson Regional Hospital we are committed to maximizing the quality of each patient’s life and to reinforcing the therapeutic approaches that will facilitate independence.

Rehabilitation is a learning process that involves not only physical restoration, but emotional, psychological, and social adjustments for both the patient and the patient’s family. With treatment that focuses on the whole person, our team of medical professionals customizes a rehabilitation plan for each patient.
