Tana Pradhan, DO, FACOG, Appointed Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Westchester Medical Center

Gynecologic oncologist Tana Pradhan, DO, FACOG, was recently appointed Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth).

Dr. Pradhan will oversee the gynecologic oncology program, which provides multidisciplinary and integrated oncology care with the latest treatment options for all types of gynecological cancers, including minimally invasive, robotic and radical surgery, as well as chemotherapy and targeted therapies.

Dr. Pradhan joined Westchester Medical Center in 2012 and most recently served as the Director of Surgical Education as well as the Assistant Residency Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her new role, she succeeds Sean Tedjarati, MD, MPH, MBA, who was recently named to the WMCHealth leadership team as Chief Clinical Integration Officer.

Board certified in obstetrics/gynecology and gynecologic oncology, Dr. Pradhan's particular areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery; laparoscopic robotic gynecologic procedures; surgical innovation and education; healthcare disparities in cancer care; and clinical trials in gynecologic cancer. She is passionate about providing comprehensive care to women with gynecologic cancers and training future clinicians in the unique and highly specialized field.

Dr. Pradhan received her medical degree from Rowan University/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. She also completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.

A resident of Westchester, Dr. Pradhan is the mother of two young children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and playing the piano. She is also a member of WMCHealth's women's leadership initiative.
