Sharing the News on Baby Sleep Safety
Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino recently presented a proclamation to Jennifer Canter, MD, MPH, FAAP, Director of the Child Abuse Pediatrics Program at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital for her contributions in spreading the word about the safest way for babies to sleep. The Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is helping the county’s bilingual public-awareness campaign, which launched in October, and promotes “the ABCs of safe sleep”: Babies should sleep Alone, on their Back and in a Crib. In addition to reaching out to the community, parents and all potential caregivers, through posters, flyers, bus advertisements and other means, the campaign has produced a video featuring Dr. Canter.
