Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital Celebrates Go the Distance Walk and Family Fun Day

Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center celebrated its 11th annual Go the Distance Walk and Family Fun Day on May 3. The one-mile walk was led by former patient Gabriel Sanchez, a 13-year-old boy diagnosed at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital two years ago with a rare genetic immunodeficiency disorder called chronic granulomatous disease. He led with pride and received a sash in a ceremony at his elementary school in the Bronx.
