Half Marathon on the Bronx River Parkway
If you tried to merge onto the Bronx River Parkway on the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend, you may have noticed hundreds of runners — all pounding the pavement to raise money for a good cause.
More than 700 runners participated in the Healing Half, a half marathon/10k run benefitting Westchester Medical Center, which started at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. The race also featured a “Kids Dash” competition for young participants.
After the event, the runners got a chance to rest and recharge at a fall festival at the finish line, complete with music, activities and fall treats.
