Addressing Food Insecurity

Collaborating with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, the food service staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of WMCHealth, is transforming leftover fresh food from the cafeteria into pre-portioned, single-person frozen meals in microwaveable containers. The work is part of a Food Recovery Program introduced at the hospital. Meals are delivered to local programs that serve mostly the senior population.
