Transformative Plans for Healthcare in Port Jervis
The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) announced an investment of more than $40 million in Bon Secours Community Hospital, a member of WMCHealth, and the Port Jervis area that is expected to transform healthcare delivery in the region. In the works are an expanded emergency department, upgraded imaging center and the conversion of 36 medical/surgical rooms from semiprivate to private, for increased patient comfort and privacy. With these changes, Bon Secours Community Hospital, working with local partners, will become the centerpiece of a medical village that will bring together services key in nurturing a healthier community. Elements of the Bon Secours Community Hospital renovation plan include an expanded emergency department with more than 10,000 sq ft of space, along with a new entrance and waiting area, and an upgraded imaging suite with advanced equipment supplied by Philips, the technology partner of WMCHealth.
