Supporting Middle-Schoolers with “Pride”

Bon Secours Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, was recently recognized by Operation PJ Pride (Port Jervis Reaching for Intervention and a Drug-Free Environment) for its contribution to the organization’s Too Good for Drugs program.

Bon Secours has sponsored workbooks and kits for all eighth-grade students at Port Jervis Middle School, where the school year began with 10 weeks of drug abuse education and training in effective decision-making to support students in avoiding drugs and violence.

“I would like to thank Community Liaison Mary Decker and Bon Secours Community Hospital for these workbooks and kits,” says Valerie Maginsky, Chairperson of Operation PJ Pride. “Our objective is prevention, and these are important tools in that endeavor.”
