O+ Festival Is a Different Kind of Health Exchange
Our region’s artists can always use a healthy show of support, and at Kingston’s recent O+ festival, that’s just what they received. During the lively, volunteer-run event, sponsored in large part by Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), artists created and performed and then received a variety of health services. Among the care providers on hand was a group of practitioners from HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, a member of WMCHealth, assembled in a convenient pop-up clinic. HealthAlliance also orchestrated an outdoor Wellness EXPO+ area, where they engaged with general festival attendees, offering everything from information on screenings to free teddy bears for children. With the added community outreach the expo provided, it’s hoped that local artists will continue to enjoy not only a healthy fan base, but their own good health, as well.
