MidHudson Regional Hospital’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Since women have unique healthcare concerns—time often being chief among them—the MidHudson Regional Hospital recently expanded its Redl Center for Cancer Care to include the cutting-edge Women’s Imaging Center, and it did so with women’s needs in mind. A designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE), the Center’s new layout allows women to receive mammograms, ultrasounds, stereotactic biopsies, and bone density scans all under one roof. With radiologists and technicians on staff, diagnostic test results can be delivered same-day—no more anxious waiting—and, once results are in, a surgical oncologist, genetic counselor, and other medical experts are located on-site to develop a customized treatment plan. The Center even offers massage, reflexology, restorative yoga, and exercise classes, and it has a boutique for women who need to be fitted for prosthetics or wigs.
