Dr. Tracey L. Weigel, a thoracic and cardiac surgeon, earned her medical degree in 1986 from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, New York. After completing a residency in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital-Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1993, Dr. Weigel went on to pursue fellowships in surgical oncology and thoracic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York (1995). Dr. Weigel completed a second residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics located in Madison, Wisconsin in 1997.She remained in Wisconsin following her residency where she served as a Professor and Chief of thoracic surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery. Following residency, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Weigel is board-certified in surgery and thoracic surgery with a subspecialty in cardiothoracic vascular surgery. She specializes in adult general thoracic surgery, as well as minimally invasive thoracic surgery and thoracic surgical oncology. Dr. Weigel is a proponent of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and treatment, especially in those patients afflicted with mesothelioma.
Dr. Weigel is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
